Delmar C. Warren was born April 26, 1923, the son of James and Mabel (Reynolds) Warren. He died Friday, December 17, 1999, at St Luke Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa, at the age of seventy-six.

Delmar was born on a farm near Griswold, Iowa, and received his education in rural schools near Atlantic and Audubon. After completing his education, Delmar helped on the family farm east of Audubon. On May 4, 1943, he enlisted in the United States Marines where he served his country with a Telephone Company Signal battalion during World War II.

Delmar was honorably discharged from the service on February 1, 1946, and was united in marriage to Elaine Jensen in Audubon, Iowa. The couple settled on a farm west of Audubon and were blessed with the birth of two children, Delmar (Cloyd) and Susan.

In the early 1960s, Delmar moved to Hawarden, Iowa, were he sold insurance. On June 23, 1971, Delmar was united in marriage to Sandra Stutzman in Blair, Nebraska, and made their home in Denison, Iowa. In 1995, they moved to Bertrand, Nebraska, for one year before moving to Schleswig, Iowa, and then to their home in Mapleton.

Delmar enjoyed horses and spent his leisure time fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. in Audubon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Susan Cabal, two brothers, Chester and Max Warren. Survivors include his wife, Sandra of Mapleton; one son, Delmar (Cloyd) Warren and his wife, Jean of Liberty, Missouri; one son-in-law, Eduardo Cabal of Bogota, Columbia; three grandchildren, Angela and Nataly Cabal of Bogota, Columbia, and Carl Warren of Liberty, Missouri; two brothers, William Warren and his wife, LaVone of Hastings, Nebraska; Lawrence Warren and his wife, Doris of Trenton, Missouri; his mother-in-law, Uteva Stutzman of Denison; other relatives and friends.
