Everett, son of Fred and Anna Christensen, was born June 12, 1926, Audubon County, Iowa. He attended rural school and was baptized and confirmed at the Hamlin Lutheran Church. He graduated from Audubon High School in 1944. Everett entered the United States Army in 1948 and received his honorable discharge in December of 1949. He was active in the National Guard for many years. Upon retiring from the service, he worked for an alfalfa plant in Audubon.

On October 18, 1953, Everett was united in marriage with Marjorie Tibben at St. John's Lutheran Church in Audubon. Four children were born to this union. In 1958, Everett and Marjorie started farming and in December of 1963 moved to the Campbell farm near Botna. He retired from farming in November of 1988. They lived in Botna for 3 years before moving to Manning in the fall of 1991. Everett was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He also enjoyed his involvement in the Aspinwall Community Club.

Because of failing health due to Lou Gehrig's Disease, he entered the Marshalltown Soldier's Home on January 12, 1995. Shortly after being transferred to the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Iowa City, he died there on Thursday, May 9, 1996, at the age of 69 years, 5 months, and 3 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Vivian Christensen in 1942, and Alice McClain in 1975.

Everett is survived by his wife Marjorie, of Manning; four children: Janet and her husband, Wayne Brown, of Boise, Idaho; Lynn Christensen and his wife, Kristine, of Adel; Lee Christensen and his wife, Christine, of Des Moines; Lyle Christensen and special friend, Denise Justice, of Manilla; eight grandchildren; a nephew, other relatives, and friends.
