Carroll, Iowa paper 1918
Once again the people of Carroll and vicinity assembled at the court house square Saturday morning to pay homage to the boys who left for service with Uncle Sam.

Those who left were Carl Selzer, Edward Kuhse, Troy Trucks, and H.F. Lippold attending Iowa State College at Ames; Harry Hillmer attending the State University at Iowa City; J.E. Bruning, Clarence Hall, and Louis Meis attending Des Moines College at Des Moines.
