LYLE R. EICH
Lyle, son of Bertram J. and Marie "Mamie" (Popp) Eich, was born
February 27, 1924, at Manning, Iowa. He graduated from Manning High School in
1941. During World War II Lyle served with the United States Army.
Lyle was united in marriage with Colleen Derner on June 6, 1949, at Carroll, Iowa. Two children, Steven and Bruce, were born to this union. In 1952 Lyle entered the postal service, becoming a postal inspector in 1960. He retired in 1980 after 28 years of service. For many years Lyle lived in Ankeny, Iowa; in 1982 he moved to Rogers, Arkansas. He died at his home there on Tuesday, August 23, 1994, at the age of 70 years, 5 months, and 27 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a son, Steven, on January 26, 1985.
Survivors include his wife, Colleen, of Rogers, Arkansas; a son, Dr. Bruce Eich and his wife, Kristen, of Tempe, Arizona; two brothers: Roger Eich, of Dallas Center and Allan Eich, of Carroll; three grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lyle was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
