Frank Lutwitze was the oldest of three sons born to Anton and Anna (Dentlinger) Lutwitze on January 19, 1896. The family moved to Dedham where Anton was a blacksmith. Frank entered the service from Dedham on September 22, 1917. He served some of his time in France and survived the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918 while in France.

After Frank's honorable discharge on March 19, 1919, he was employed at the Dedham Elevator for seventeen years. In 1935 he purchased and moved to a farm south of Templeton. His wife, Anna, died January 27, 1958, at home on the farm. Frank retired from farming to a home in Manning in 1966. He passed away March 31, 1985.
