GEORGE WITTROCK

Mass of the Resurrection was said Wednesday, September 17, 1975, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church at Manning. Celebrant was Rev. Fr. Norbert Weber, MSC. Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Templeton, with Rick Wittrock, Mark Wittrock, Tom Wittrock, Mike Jones, Danny Moore, Florian Wittrock, Jr. as casketbearers. Military honors were by the ceremonial squad of the American Legion Post 22 and VFW Post 3517, Manning, Iowa. Rosary was said Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Bible service at 8:15, both led by Fr. Weber, at the Ohde Funeral Home at Manning.

George Joseph Wittrock was born November 27, 1894, at Halbur, Iowa, the son of Claus and Marie (Hausmann) Wittrock. He attended schools at Halbur, served overseas in World War I, and was united in marriage February 10, 1920, to Bernadine Eischeid. They farmed southwest of Templeton until retiring to Manning in 1960.

He has been in failing health for the past year. Mr. Wittrock died early Sunday morning, September 14, 1975, at Penrose Hospital, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his wife on November 10, 1974; by 4 children in infancy; by his parents and ten brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his children: Florian Wittrock, Carroll; Agnes, Mrs. Harold Juels, Manning; Marian, Mrs. Ellsworth Jones, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Janet, Mrs. Ed Pevey, Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas; and James Wittrock of Manning; by 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and the following brother and sisters: William Wittrock, Fonda, Iowa, Mrs. Kate Jannings, Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, and Tina, Mrs. Henry Potthoff, Halbur.
