Nicolai Griebel

Nicolai Gustav "Nick" Griebel, 82, Bennett, died Tuesday, May 8, 1979, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton, Iowa, after an extended illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bennett. Burial will be in Inland Cemetery, Bennett, Iowa.

Visitation is 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Sheets and Son Funeral Home, Tipton, and 9 a.m. to service time Friday at the church.

He was a retired farmer and seed corn salesman. He was also active as a carpenter.

Mr. Griebel was born in Manning, Iowa, May 14, 1896. He married Erna E. Beyer in 1919 in Ramona, South Dakota.

He was a veteran of World War I.

A son, Emil Griebel, died October 9, 1944, and was a Veteran of WWII.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Hazel) Hartwig, Bennett; a son, Richard, Pittsville, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons, and a brother, William, Morristown, Minnesota.
