Hermann, son of Claus and Margaretha Dammann, was born September 8, 1891, in Warren Township, Carroll County, Iowa. He attended the rural schools.

During World War 1 Hermann served in the Sixty-fifth Regiment of the Coast Artillery Corps of the United States Army, serving in France during 1918.
On December 14, 1916, he was united in marriage with Pauline Rudnick at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln Twp.

Throughout their lives the couple farmed in Audubon County, retiring and moving to Manning in 1947. Pauline passed away on February 24, 1981. In March Hermann entered the Manning Plaza. He had been in failing health for about a month and died, there on August 26, 1981, at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 18 days.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, by six brothers, Claus Frederick, John, George, Henry, Bill & Harry; also by two sisters, Emma Hershman and Annie Langbehn.

He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Louise Rudnick of Wall Lake and Mrs. Laura Rudnick of Audubon; as well as by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Hermann Dammann is buried in the Manning Cemetery.
Section D Row #15 north - south.

I'm occasionally adding the actual scanned image of the obituary I make using my VERY expensive - large commercial scanner, and/or also other articles about the deceased person that were published in the Manning Monitor.
I want to also comment about people who are taking my obituaries, pictures, and/or other articles about a person/family and posting them on other websites.
You do NOT have permission or the right to do this - you are stealing my historical work.
Buy your own scanning equipment, pay for memberships to other commercial websites, and spend decades working on your local history like I have - then you'll understand why I'm making these comments!

Thank you for your attention to this matter - Dave Kusel
