HERBERT LeROY DAMMANN

Herbert LeRoy, son of Eddie and Alviena (Goettsch) Dammann was born February 26, 1931. He attended country school in Lincoln Township and graduated from Manning High School in 1959. He was confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church.

After his military service in the Marine Corps he moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa. He married Evelyn Winkler of Corning, Iowa on June 26, 1955. In 1967 he was transferred by his employer American Telephone and Telegraph to Kansas City and made his home in Overland Park, Kansas with his family until his death on July 14, 1980. He is buried in Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Olathe, Kansas.

Herbert had served 25 years with American Telephone and Telegraph. He was a member of Valley View Methodist Church in Overland, Park, and was active with his son's Boy Scout Troop.

Besides his wife Evelyn he is survived by his parents Eddie and Alviena Dammann, daughters Kathleen and Connie and his son Duane; sisters Edna Rudnick and her husband Reinhardt of Phoenix, Arizona; Delores Jensen and her husband Lyle of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brother Donald and his wife Judy of Manning; 9 nieces and nephews.
