Bob Hoffmann at treasure Island
"Just a line to let you know that I am now in "sunny" California ---- the sun actually broke through the fog today. I wanted to notify you of my change so that I might receive the old home-town paper. I miss it a lot-especially the account of those successful Bulldog basketeers.

"I was transferred from Great Lakes and arrived at Treasure Island last Tuesday. As you no doubt know, Treasure Island was the site of the Frisco Golden Exposition, and has been converted into a Naval Base. That's about all I can say about it.
"I will be stationed here until I am assigned to a ship, which may be some time.
Sincerely, Bob Hoffmann.
