ANTON HUNKLER
Requiem mass for Anton Hunkler, Templeton, who died December 1, 1964, at the Carroll Nursing Home will be read at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Church here by the Rev. Leo C. Harpenau. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, with a military honor guard by Emil Ewoldt Post 22, American Legion, of Manning.

Friends may call at the Twit Funeral Home in Carroll after 7 p.m. Wednesday. The rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8 and 8:45 p.m. and Thursday at 3 p.m. by the Legion of Mary and at 8 p.m. by the Holy Name Society of the parish.

Mr. Hunkler was a mason, mechanic, and railroad laborer before his retirement. A son of Joseph and Maria (Bea) Hunkler, he was born August 25, 1886, and received his education at Templeton.

He was a Veteran of World War I.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church here, the Holy Name Society of the parish, and the American Legion. He had been ill since September 13, 1963, and a patient of the nursing home since that time.

He is survived by one brother, Matt Hunkler, Templeton; four sisters, Mrs. J.P. Muller, St. George, Kansas; Mrs. William Goetzinger, Petersburg, Nebraska; Mrs. I.F. Brake, Fort Dodge, Iowa; and Mrs. Millie Muldowney, San Francisco, California; and nieces and nephews in this area.

Two sisters, Mrs. Bill Werner and Mrs. Henry Wahl, and one brother, Joe Hunkler, preceded him in death.
