JOHN MOHR
Funeral Services for John Mohr, 68, will be held Saturday, October 19 at 9:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church in Manning.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, with military rites by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts of Manning. Pallbearers will be Arnold Gunder, Westside; Leo Bruck, Arthur Book, and Paul Vollmer, Manning; Louis Rupiper, Carroll; and Joe Trecker, Templeton.

Mr. Mohr, who had been a rural mail carrier for 40 years, died unexpectedly at his home Tuesday evening, October 15, 1957.

Son of Gustav and Helena (Goettsch) Mohr, he was born at Manning October 7, 1889, and attended the local schools. On June 28, 1921, he was married to Regina Kelley at Elma, Iowa.

The couple had three sons, Daryl, Dale, and Don. Daryl was killed in the Battle of Luzon, May 13, 1945.

Mr. Mohr, a World War I Veteran, had served overseas.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Dale, Merced, California; and Don Osceola, three grandchildren, Iowa; three grand Michael and Michele Mohr of Osceola, and Tommy Mohr of Merced; and a sister, Mrs. Herman (Laura) Lage of Manning.

He was preceded in death by his son; his parents; a brother, Henry, and two sisters, Mrs. August (Bertha) Karsten and Mrs. Emil, (Henrietta) Stuedemann.
