LYNN EWOLDT
Lynn E. Ewoldt was born on a farm in east Boyer Township on September 13, 1925, the son of John and Frieda (Hansen) Ewoldt. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith as a child. He was raised on a farm and attended country school in Crawford County. He worked as a farm laborer until he entered military service on February 14, 1945, serving in Okinawa, Japan, until he received his honorable discharge from the United States Army on December 8, 1946. He returned to Denison to work in a body shop until 1948, when he became employed with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad.

On February 5, 1950, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Frerichs in Denison.

At that time he became a member of the United Presbyterian Church. They made their home in Denison and he continued to work for the railroad until his retirement due to ill health in 1983, having been employed by Chicago Northwestern for 35 years.

Lynn died October 26, 1986, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. At the time of his death he had attained the age of 61 years, 1 month, and 13 days. He was preceded in death by his father, John Ewoldt.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Denison, two sons, Jeffery of Grand Island, Nebraska, Jim and wife Cindy of Denison, one daughter, Judy and husband John Swanson of Denison, his mother, Mrs. Frieda Ewoldt of Denison, one brother, Iven and Marcia Ewoldt of Sheridan, Oregon, one sister, LaVonne and husband Marvin Kluver of Mapleton, and two grandchildren, Ryan and Derek Swanson of Denison, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., October 29, at the United Presbyterian Church in Denison with the Rev. James D. Cobb officiating. Music for the service was provided by Charlotte Dueland singing "How Great Thou Art," "The Lord's Prayer," and "Amazing Grace," with Ann Voggesser serving as organist.

Pallbearers included Alvin Dixon, George Maack, John O'Brien, Raymond Walde, William Brink, and Gerald Osterlund. Interment was in the Crawford Heights Memory Gardens at Denison.

The Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of the arrangements.
