Death Calls L.H. Kalkhoff At Templeton

Louis Kalkhoff, 62, died of a heart attack at his home here at 7:30 last night, December 20, 1959. He had been in ill health the last several years.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, Templeton, with the Very Rev. F.P. Schultes officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Military rites will be under the direction of the Manning post, American Legion. The body was returned this afternoon from the Ohde Funeral home, Manning, to the family home where the rosary will be prayed at 8 o'clock tonight. It will be prayed at 8 and 8:30 Friday night, with members of the Knights of Columbus reciting the rosary at 8.

A lifelong resident of Templeton, Mr. Kalkhoff was born here November 28, 1888, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kalkhoff. He engaged in farming until 1948 when he retired and moved to Templeton.

Surviving are three brothers and five sisters: Mrs. Peter (Anna) Thielen, Templeton; Mrs. Ben (Elizabeth) Lange, Carroll; Mrs. John (Mary) Herbers, Omaha; Henry Kalkhoff, Clements, Minnesota; Catherine, Rose, Ed, and William, Templeton.

Mr. Kalkhoff was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Sacred Heart Council, Knights of Columbus, and Emil Ewoldt Post, American Legion, Manning.

He was a veteran of World War I.
