Lawren is brother to Albert Stoelk.
They both went to Little Rock, Arkansas boot camp.
Lawren went to France before the Armistice was signed.

Lawren Stoelk
Funeral services for Lawren J. Stoelk, 85, of Lake View, Iowa, were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 11, 1981, at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Wall Lake, Iowa. The Rev. Donald Gibson officiated.

Mr. Stoelk passed away December 8, 1981, at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Music was by organist Mrs. Marvin Arnold, who accompanied William Kolbe, soloist.

Mrs. Carl Sproul and Mrs. Grace Levin were in charge of the floral offerings.

Pallbearers were Robert Bartlett, Duane Hoaglund, Lloyd Heidenreich, D.V. "Dick" Lawler, William Schwanz, and Eugene Vogel.

Interment was made in Wall Lake Cemetery, Wall Lake, under the direction of Farber & Otteman Funeral Home of Wall Lake. Military graveside rites were conducted by the American Legion Chalon Post No. 262 of Wall Lake.

Lawren J. Stoelk was born March 22, 1896, to Henry and Dora (Stuhr) Stoelk near Manning, Iowa. He was married to Lois Rohde, October 4, 1943. She passed away January 25, 1973. He married Lucille McCrea in Lake View October 9, 1976.

He was a longtime businessman in Wall Lake, where he was the owner and manager of the Recreation Center.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille, of Lake View; a daughter, Imogene (Mrs. Hugh) Davis of North Bend, Washington; a son, Erwin Stoelk of Des Moines; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Lou Rae (Mrs. Kenneth) Staton of Grand Island, Nebraska; three step-sons: DeLoss McCrea of Bettendorf, Iowa; Louis McCrea of Des Moines, Iowa; and Ivan Rohde of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and a sister, Mrs. Ella Reimers of Manning, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois; and five brothers: Willie, Frank, Charles, Harry, and Albert.
