Francis was the son of Seth Leonard and Electa Davis - married in December 1818 in Franklin County, Massachusetts.
He married Martha Humiston, born 1836 in Ohio and died June 18, 1882. She is buried in Ashippun-Lebanon Cemetery, Ashippun, Wisconsin.
