Melvin Jansen

Melvin was born May 9, 1918, to Ferdinand and Dora (Nulle) Jansen near Manning. His family moved to the Storm Lake area in 1930. He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

For several years he worked as a plumber in Whittemore, Iowa. After moving to Storm Lake, he established Jansen Plumbing and Heating, which he operated for 30 years until retiring in 1985. He married Lenore (Henaman) Slikkerveer on September 4, 1971, in Estherville.

Preceding him in death were his father; and one brother, Harold.
Melvin passed away October 12, 1988.
Burial was in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery, Storm Lake, Iowa.
