Former Manning Resident Dies In California
Funeral Rites Wednesday For Erwin H. Moser Who Died Monday Word has been received in Manning of the death of Erwin H. Moser, 47, a former Manning resident. He passed away early Monday morning in the Veterans' Hospital in Palo Alto, California, where he had been a patient for the past five years.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock. The body was laid to rest in the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, California, with full military honors.

Mr. Moser was born in Manning May 13, 1894, son of Louis and Frances (Von Egert) Moser. He grew to manhood here.

He lived in Kearney, Nebraska, for several years after leaving school. Later he was employed at the Manning Produce.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army the day after war was declared. He served with the Coastal Artillery in France and in the Army of Occupation, returned to his home six months after the signing of the Armistice.

He suffered shell shock and gas and has never enjoyed good health since that time. After the World War, he made his home in California. He spent several years on a ranch in St. Helena, California, before going to San Francisco, where he was in the employ of Catalina Millinery on Market Street.

He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth "Kittie" Zobel of San Francisco; his mother, Frances Moser of Manning; two brothers, A.E. Moser of Ames, Iowa; Ralph W. Moser of Onawa, Iowa; and step-son Camil L. Moser, Los Angeles, California; two sisters, Melitta (Mrs. C.) Palmatary, Wilmington, Delaware; and Marie (Mrs. Dan R.) McGrath, Manning, Iowa, also his grandmother, Mrs. Caroline Von Egert, Los Angeles.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Moser of Onawa left Omaha by plane Thursday to be with his brother.

A step-son, Aurel Moser and their father, Dr. Louis F. Moser of Manning preceded Erwin in death March 6, 1916.
