Carl Piper's Services Friday

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Ohde Funeral Home here for Carl Christian Piper, 63, of Manning who died Tuesday morning, January 23, 1953, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll. The Rev. John Klosperboer of the Manilla Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

Mr. Piper had farmed the homestead north of Manning the last 32 years. Son of Carl and Friedericka Piper, he was born April 25, 1889, in Washington Township, Carroll County.

He was married September 22, 1929, to Amanda Alvina Hell, who survives. He also leaves a son, Norman, and a sister, Mary Piper of Manning.

Mr. Piper assisted his father on the farm after attending the Manning Public Schools.

He was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the American Legion Post, Manning, the ceremonial team of which will conduct military services at the final rites.

His parents, one sister, and two step-brothers preceded him in death.


Carl & Amanda Piper are buried in the Manning Cemetery.
