Fay Pollock Is Named Judge In 9th District

Fay Hall Pollock, Stanton County attorney, was appointed by Governor Griswold to succeed Judge Adolph Wenke to the District Court Bench in the Ninth District.

Wenke was elected November 3 to the Nebraska Supreme Court.

Pollock, 46, was graduated from the Nebraska law school in 1921.

Following a brief period of practicing law in Omaha, he was elected to the state legislature in 1925.

Pollock has been Stanton County attorney for 16 years, being elected for his fifth term this past election.

He has served as president of the Nebraska Association of County Attorneys, president of the Ninth Judicial District Bar association and was in the Army Air Corps during the First World War.


Fay Pollock Retired Judge Dies at 78
Services will be held at the Lundberg Chapel in Sun City, Arizona, at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 1975, for Fay Hall Pollock, 78, who served 26 years as a judge of the Ninth Judicial District in Stanton County, Nebraska.

Judge Pollock died at a Sun City hospital Thursday. He had suffered a series of strokes May 12. He is buried in Stanton Cemetery, Stanton, Nebraska.

Pollock resigned from the District Court bench in 1969 and was a partner in a Norfolk, Nebraska, law firm until retirement in 1971, when he moved to Arizona.

Pollock was a member of the legislature from Douglas County on 1926 and the next year opened practice in Stanton. He became county attorney in 1927 and served until 1943, when he was appointed a district judge.

Pollock was a past president of the Nebraska District Court Judges Association and the Nebraska County Attorneys Association, and was a member of the Executive Council and vice president of the Nebraska Bar Association.

Survivors include his widow, Gladys Pollock (1909 - 1990); a daughter, Mrs. Robert Bruce of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; a son, Jack, of Ogallala, Nebraska; and eight grandchildren.

Fay was born November 25, 1896, to Henry and Azubah (Hall) Pollock.
His mother is buried in the Manning Cemetery.
