The Masonic service at the grave was given by Omar Kilbourne. The flag of the American Legion draped the casket and taps were sounded by members of that organization. Members of the American Legion Auxiliary served dinner at the Dr. E.E. Gingles home for relatives and out-of-town people attending the services.

Ralph Moser was born in Manning, Iowa, December 31, 1899, the youngest child of Louis and Frances (Von Egert) Moser.

At the age of seventeen, about a month before his graduation, he enlisted in the Army for service in the Medical Corps during the World War in which capacity he remained until the end. He attained the rank of top sergeant. He spent two years in California. Then he was employed by the Parrott Company in Manning before he went to Onawa for the Parrott Company. For a short time he conducted his own business, becoming manager of the Jerpe Commission Company, which company had purchased the Parrott interests.

Mr. Moser was manager of the Jerpe Commission at the time of his death.

He was a member of the city council for the past six years. One of his fondest hopes was realized when his brother Masons came to his home about a month ago and made him worshipful master of Vesper lodge, A.F. and A.M., for which office he was in line at the coming election.

He was active in all community affairs.

He was a charter member of Emil Ewoldt Post No. 22 of the American Legion and is a past commander.

Two months before his death he flew to California to visit a brother, Erwin H. Moser, who died August 11, 1934.

Mr. Moser became ill in 1939, going to Rochester for a major operation. He apparently recovered, enjoying a year of good health in 1940. About May of this year, the disease which caused his, death returned. He attended to his duties until almost the last. His father passed away in 1916.

He is survived by his wife, his mother, Francis, two brothers, C.L. Moser of Alhambra, California, Albert E. Moser of Ames, two sisters (Marie), Mrs. Dan R. McGrath, Manning, and (Melitta), Mrs. C.L. Palmatary, Wilmington, Delaware.
