Lieut. Stanley M. Reed

From a "buck private" to a first lieutenant in less than one year is the record of Lieutenant Stanley M. Reed, son of Mrs. J.W. Spowage, of the Spowage block, who has just arrived overseas.
Lieutenant Reed enlisted as a private September 23, 1917, is going to Camp Dodge. He was promoted to a Corporal, then to a Platoon Sergeant, then to a Regimental Intelligence Sergeant. Later he was admitted to the Officers' Training School and was given a commission.
