Friedrich "Fred" Wilhelm Carl Stumpe

Fred C. Stumpe, 68, died Monday, April 27, 1964, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Des Moines. He had been in failing health for two years.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ohde Funeral Home, with Dorothy Kusel as organist. Burial in Manning Cemetery. Military rites will be in charge of the local American Legion and V.F.W. Posts.

Mr. Stumpe was born at Manning March 15, 1896, a son of Reinhard and Caroline (Boeger) Stumpe. He lived and worked at Manning all of his life, with the exception of military service. He enlisted during World War I and after several months' service received an honorable discharge because of ill health. He was married to Rose Marie Urban on March 15, 1944.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Sylvia Lutz, Denison; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Reinke, and a nephew, Harold Reinke, both of Manning.


Fred Stumpe is buried in the Manning Cemetery.
