WILLIAM LORENZEN
Funeral services for William Lorenzen, 69, of Manilla, were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla at 2 pm. January 11, with the Rev. Vernon Gundermann of Arcadia officiating.

Military graveside rites in Nishnabotna Cemetery, were conducted by the American Legion Post of Manilla. Pallbearers were nephews: Wilmer and Wayne Ranniger, Jack Lakers, Jack and Allen Lorenzen, and Lester Boyens.

Mr. Lorenzen, a son of Lorenz and Catherine (Claussen) Lorenzen, was born May 12, 1895, in Shelby County. He lived on the same farm five miles southeast of Manilla all his life. He was married to Mabel Wunder in 1920.

Mr. Lorenzen died unexpectedly January 8, 1965, while at supper. He was preceded by his wife, on August 6, 1964, and two brothers.

Survivors include a son, Melvin, at home; two brothers, Tom Lorenzen, London, Minnesota; and John Lorenzen, Aspinwall, Iowa; five sisters, Mrs. Fred (Hannah) Boyens, Manilla, Iowa; Mrs. Otto (Christine) Tesch, Manning, Iowa; Mrs. Emma Ranniger, Manning, Iowa; Mrs. Ed (Amanda) Steen, Manning, Iowa; and Mrs. Henry (Anna) Ehrichs, Flandreau, South Dakota.

Mr. Lorenzen was an overseas Veteran of World War I.
