William Signall, who enlisted in the medical department at Leavenworth, Kansas, some time ago got a leave of absence to come home New Years to visit with his brother, Francis, who was home from the Great Lakes Naval Base.

William "Bill" Signall
William Signall was born August 18, 1894, at Manning, Iowa to William and Jenny (Woodward) Signall. He entered eternal rest October 11, 1972, at Primghar, Iowa, at the age of 78 years. He was buried at Waterman Cemetery, Sutherland, Iowa.

His early years were spent at Gray, Iowa where he attended school. During World War I he served in the United States Army. For many years he operated a barber shop at Royal, Iowa, retiring in 1956 to Iowa City. Since 1971, he has resided in Sutherland, Iowa.

On November 22, 1927, he was united in marriage to Eunice Cooper at Gray, Iowa. They became the parents of two children.

He was a member of the Methodist Church and the American Legion.

Preceding him in death were his parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice, 1 son, Robert of Dallas, Texas; and 1 daughter, Adeline (Mrs. Kenneth Steuck) of Spirit Lake, Iowa; 4 grandchildren, 1 sister, Olive Dozler of Carroll, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.


William Signal Sr. is buried in the Manning Cemetery.
