Mrs. Frank Dentlinger. 72, a resident of the Halbur community for the past 45 years, died at 4:35 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Hospital where she had been a patient since Monday. She had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill the past two weeks.
Friends may call at the Twit Funeral Home starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday. The rosary will also be recited at 8 p.m. Friday by members of St. Augustine's Guild, led by the Rev. L.J. Greteman, and at 8:45 p.m. Friday.
Requiem mass will be read at 9:30 Saturday morning at St. Augustine Church, Halbur, by Fr. Greteman, with burial in the parish cemetery.
Mrs. Dentlinger, the former Elizabeth Drees, was born September 14, 1887, at New Vienna, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Fangman) Drees. The family came to Carroll County in 1888. Her marriage to Frank Dentlinger took place October 6, 1914, at Roselle, with Fr. Gehling officiating. She was a member of St. Augustine Church, Halbur, and St. Augustine's Guild.
Survivors include her husband, Frank, Halbur; and the following children: Wilbert. Carroll: Mrs. Alvin (Rita) Ferneding, Templeton; John, Glidden; Alphonse, Lake View; Mrs. George (Marie) Siepker, Halbur; Ambrose, Templeton; and Norman, Coon Rapids. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers, Mrs. Frank (Celia) Kraus, Wall Lake; Louis Drees, Carroll; Mrs. Rose Wittrock, Halbur; John Drees, Kansas City, Kansas; Edward Drees, Exira; Richard Drees, Carroll; and Mrs. Jan (Evelina) Nosal, Columbus, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a son Francis in 1934, a daughter Anita in 1956, her parents, two sisters, Mrs. August (Ella) Wittrock and Mrs. Joe (Anna) Snyder, and two brothers, Henry and Joe Drees.
