Alexine H. Lake
Alexine Helen Lake, 74, of 922 E. College St., died Friday evening, December 16, 1983, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are pending at the Farber-Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City. George L. Gay Funeral Home, Iowa City, is in charge of local arrangements. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Sac City.

Mrs. Lake was born October 4, 1909, in Dedham, a daughter of Joseph Zender and Ida Kusel; one year later the family moved to Manning where her three brothers were born.

She married Charles Clark Lake December 2, 1929, in Carroll. They lived in Sac City most of their lives. She moved to Iowa City in 1977 after his death from Spirit Lake where they had retired. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Richard of Iowa City, Thomas of Wall Lake, and Gary of Hastings, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren: one great-grandson; and two brothers, Leeroy Zender of San Francisco and Ralph Zender of Sacramento, California.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Wayne.
