Mr. Hacker, 34, died of a brain aneurysm Friday, April 17, 1998, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. His family donated Mr. Hacker's organs for transplant.

The Rev. Gary Snyder and the Rev. Laurence Burns officiated the Mass, Lector was Tom Sporrer. Eucharistic minister was Bernice Thohe. Gift bearers were Brandi Anthofer, Heather Hacker, Ashley Hacker, Derek Anthofer, and Jesse Hacker.

Casket bearers were Tony Hilsabeck, Joel David, Brent Benton, Kent Henriksen, Steve Ridgley, and Kenny Klocke. Honorary casket hearers were Steve Andersen, Eric Benton, Jeff Andersen, Dan Ertz, Craig Wegner, Dave Andersen, Monty Haubrich, and Randy Nissen.

Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery at Audubon.

Friends called and a rosary was prayed Sunday at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning.

A son of Delmus and Rose (Sporrer) Hacker, he was born May 8, 1963, at Carroll and was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith at St. Patrick Church in Audubon.

The family resided in Gray and Mr. Hacker attended schools in Audubon.

After graduating from Audubon High School in 1981, Mr. Hacker moved to Texas and worked as a parts dispatcher for Wooley Tool Co. He moved back to Iowa in 1986.

He and Jennifer Marie Andreasen were married June 25, 1988, at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton.

They lived in Manning, where Mr. Hacker was employed by AGP. In May 1997, he began working as a mechanic at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Jenny, of Manning; a daughter, Kanion, and a son, Lake, both at home; his mother, Rose Hacker, of Gray; three sisters and their husbands: Nancy and Curt Grimm of Aspinwall, Rhonda and Danny Anthofer of Coon Rapids, and Donna and Jon Kemper of Templeton; a brother, Daryl Hacker, and his wife, Marcia; his mother-in-law, Judy Bishop, and her husband, Steve, of Jefferson; his father-in-law, Gene Andreasen, of Coon Rapids; three brothers-in-law: Monty Andreasen of Peterson, Iowa; Neil Andreasen of Hamlin, Iowa; and Dave Andreasen of Coon Rapids, Iowa; and many other relatives.

Mr. Hacker was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Delmus Hacker, in 1994, and a sister, Mary Rose, in infancy.
