Dorothy Knobbe
Dorothy Knobbe, age 93, died Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Addington Place in Carroll.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at St. Lawrence Church - St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott. Music will be by Jane Heithoff and Duane Handlos. Lectors will be Travis Knobbe and Karla Opheim. Gift Bearers will be Rachel Burnham, Liz Knobbe, Maggie Bieret, Lindsy Seidl, Amanda Meister, Katelyn Knobbe, and Karla Opheim. Eucharistic Minister will be Karen Heisterkamp. Casket Bearers will be Eric Burnham, Travis Knobbe, Joey Knobbe, Michael Heisterkamp, Derek Nieland, Alex Heisterkamp, and Jordan Knobbe. The Breda American Legion Auxiliary will form an honor guard for the Funeral Mass. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Monday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll with a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.

Dorothy was born November 11, 1930, in Manning, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mary (Bier) Blum. She was a 1948 graduate of Manning High School. After school, Dorothy worked at Mutual of Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska before meeting her future husband, Bob, at a dance at the Five Mile House. They married on February 6, 1951, at Sacred Heart Church in Manning, Iowa. Together, the couple lived and farmed south of Auburn while busily raising 5 children. Dorothy also enjoyed her work at Stewart Memorial Hospital. Dorothy and Bob moved to Carroll in 1982. Dorothy enjoyed China painting, volunteering at St Anthony Hospital making flower arrangements, playing cards, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. Dorothy was a member of St. John Paul II Parish, Breda American Legion Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Vicki Burnham and her husband Jeff of Parker, Colorado; Bill Knobbe and his wife Lori of Carroll; Joleen Stark and her husband Tom of Carroll; Karen Heisterkamp and her husband Gary of Arlington, Texas; Ken Knobbe and his wife Janice of Auburn; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two additional blessings on the way; sister-in-law Jean Knobbe, and brother-in-law Leon Baumhover.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Blum; her husband Bob Knobbe; and her 13 siblings.
