Earl Asmus

Earl Andres Asmus, son of Mr. Henry Asmus and his wife Wilhelmina, nee Dreager, was born in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Iowa, on the 5th day of January 1916.

On the 27th day of February 1916 he was baptized in the Lutheran Church. A few years later, in 1919, little Earl was stricken with a very complicated disease. Every available means was used to overcome the ailment, but without success. With every month he became weaker and weaker until finally the Lord called him out of all grief and affliction to himself in heaven, on the 21st day of August 1921.

During his illness, little Earl was a very patient sufferer and although being handicapped, he nevertheless made many friends.

He leaves to mourn his departure his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Asmus; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dethlef Asmus and Mr. and Mrs. Dreager; 8 aunts; 7 uncles; 15 cousins, besides many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 24, 1921, at the Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township. Rev. J. Schliepsick officiated and interment was made in the Manning Cemetery.
