Mr. Laflar had been in ill health for the past five years, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident at that time on the highway near Jefferson. His condition became so serious late Wednesday that his son, Arthur Emmett Laflar, was summoned from Portland. The son was here when Laflar passed away.
The Laflars came here from Iowa in 1911, he engaging at once in the real estate business. He was born in Griswold, Iowa, August 10, 1856, son of William and Margaret (Powers) Laflar, and later ran a country newspaper (Manning Monitor) and the post office at Manning, Iowa. He was a Mason and member of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are the widow, Melissa H. (Armstrong) Laflar, and the son, Arthur E.
Burial was at Smith Cemetery, Griswold, Iowa.
