John P. Jahn
John Paul Jahn, 90, of 2200 block of 39th Street died of congestive heart failure Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wallow funeral Home, with entombment it Resthaven Garden Mausoleum.

Son of Claus and Kathryn (Wunder) Jahn, he was born in Westside, May 11, 1912, and had lived in Des Moines since 1934. He was a retired plant manager with Lambert Cream and Dairy in Des Moines and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed taking vacations after retiring.

He is survived by a daughter Nancy Smith of Des Moines; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (McIntee) Jahn in 2002, his mother in 1936, and his sister, Helen Pyle, in 1979.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines or his church.

Claus died in 1915 and then Kathryn married Edward Paesler in 1924.
