Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Trinity Lutheran Church at Cherokee. Pastor Oscar Marquardt will officiate. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery at Storm Lake under direction of the Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee.
Mrs. Borkowski, the former Julia Friedrichsen, was born April 29, 1904, in Audubon County, daughter of Henry and Rosa (Kusel) Friedrichsen.
She was married February 1, 1928, in Audubon County. Mr. Borkowski died in 1963. She had been a resident of the Cherokee area for the last 10 years prior to which she lived in Portland, Oregon, and Storm Lake.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include five sons, Raymond of Forest City, Merle
of Elliott, Verne of Cherokee, Russell of Climbing Hill, and Allen of Woodford,
Virginia; one daughter, Mrs. Darvin (Florence) Fister of Fort Collins, Colorado;
seventeen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers: Bill and
Emil, both of Milton Freewater, Oregon, and Edward of
Santa Ana, California; and two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Flora) Polzien of Wall
Lake, and Mrs. Emil (Lena) David of Audubon.
