Born in Bayard, Iowa, he married June Kleespies December 4, 1937.

He came to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 1925 and was employed by Sioux Falls Book and Stationery and Triangle School Service, retiring in 1979.

Survivors include three sons, Michael, Kingwood, Texas; Jeffrey, Aurora, Colorado; Timothy, Harrisburg, South Dakota; five grandchildren; three sisters, Laura Skaff and Evelyn McKee, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Ethel Miles, Hamilton, Montana.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church.

Masonic services will be 7:30 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the First Presbyterian Church and the Sertoma Club.
