RUBY DAMMANN
Ruby, daughter of James and Laura Feltner Cavanaugh, was born June 4, 1916, in Audubon County, Iowa. She attended school at Audubon.

On September 23, 1933, Ruby was united in marriage with Lester Dammann. They made their home on an acreage in Aspinwall for 13 years while Lester worked at the Manning Creamery Company Farms. In 1946 they moved to the ManCryCo farm on the west edge of the Manning city limits, purchasing the farm and dairy herd in 1963. Ruby and her husband worked together to build and maintain the fine quality of the well known dairy herd. Lester died in 1986 and Ruby continued to make her home on the farm.

Ruby's health declined rapidly since the first part of February and she died at Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital in Omaha on Wednesday morning, March 8, 1989, at the age of 72 years, 9 months, and 4 days.

Besides her husband, Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; by two sons, Michael, in infancy and Kenneth, in 1973; by five brothers, Tony, Irv, George, Bill, and Raymond Cavanaugh; by one granddaughter; and by one great-grandson.

Ruby is survived by two sons, LeRoy Dammann and his wife, Freda, of Manning and Richard Dammann and his wife, Elaine, of Manning; by three daughters: Sandra and her husband, Keith Hass, of Manning; Geri and her husband, Kenneth Spies, of Manning; and Nancy and her husband, DeWayne McCord, of Carroll; by 16 grandchildren; by seven great-grandchildren; by a sister, Noami Hilsabeck, of Gray; by her twin sister, Ruth and her husband, Clayton Hamann, of Grand Junction, Colorado; by a brother, James Cavanaugh and his wife, Lois, of Panora; by two sisters-in-law, Vena Pearson, of Oskaloosa and Goldie Maney, of Roseburg, Oregon; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ruby Dammann is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
