Adela Catharine Marquardt, daughter of Henry and Minnie (Gehring) Marquardt, was born November 1890, in Otter Creek Township, Crawford County. In early infancy she was baptized and later confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church at Denison. On November 20, 1912, she was married to Fred J. Schroeder and after their marriage they farmed in Goodrich and Hayes Townships. They came to live in Denison in 1948.
Surviving her death are one grandson, Wayne Schroeder of Ida Grove and one sister, Mrs. Anna Hollander of Schleswig and her husband, Fred.
Preceding her in death were a son, Freddie, one granddaughter, four brothers, and one sister.
Her funeral service was held on June 19 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison with the Rev. Carl W. Schmidt officiating. Mrs. Fred Rabe served as organist with hymns being sung by the Lutheran Ladies Choir.
Interment was made in the Morgan Township with the following serving as pallbearers: Peter T. Jepsen, Edward Marquardt, Henry Schroeder, Edgar Marquardt, Alvin Schroeder and Henry Thomsen.
