MRS. HENRY H. (ADELINE C.) NIEHAUS
Mrs. Henry H. (Adeline C.) Niehaus, 81, of Templeton, died Thursday, May 22, 1980, at the Manning General Hospital after a brief illness. She had been a resident of the Manning Plaza Nursing Home since mid-1979.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at Sacred Heart Church, Templeton, with the Rev. Eugene Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Parish Cemetery at Arcadia with the Rev. Cletus A. Ahmann, St. John's pastor. officiating at committal rites. Pallbearers will be Ronald, Gary, Robert, and Rodney Niehaus; David, Thomas, and Michael Bluml, and Monte Hansen.

Rosaries are scheduled at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning at 3 and 8 p.m. (Catholic Daughters of the Americas) Friday. A scriptural prayer service will be conducted at 8:45 p.m. Friday.

Survivors include three sons: Jack and Earl, Templeton, and Michael, Vail, three daughters: Mrs. Arlene Auen, Alameda, California; Mrs. Jerome (Bonnie) Bluml, Manning, and Ruth Ann Roderick, Greeley, Colorado; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Antoinette (Nettie) Stangl, Carroll Health Center; three brothers: Clarence, Fort Dodge; Oswald, Knoxville, and Patrick Stangl, Oskaloosa; five sisters: Mrs. Gerald (Isabelle) McDonald, Stanton, California; Mrs. Caroline Smith, Mount Morris, Michigan; Mrs. Al (Alyce Claire) Broudie, Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Frank (Janet) Stam, Knoxville, and Mrs. Warren (Mari Kaye) Mendes.

She was preceded by her father, husband, a daughter Elaine and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Niehaus was born September 28, 1898, at Arcadia, a daughter of John and Antoinette (Pille) Stangl.

She was married to Henry H Niehaus November 29, 1916. They farmed near Templeton for five years, then moved to a farm near Arcadia. They moved back to Templeton in 1931 and moved to Manning in 1941. She was employed by the Priebe Hatchery there for many years.

Her husband died in 1968. She lived with daughters in Nebraska and California and two years ago moved to Templeton to live with her son Jack.

She was a longtime member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas at Templeton and while living in California was a member of the Rosarians and the Legion of Mary.
