Funeral services for Adolph Porsch, 73, lifetime resident of this vicinity, were held at Zion Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 with Pastor John M. Ansorge officiating. Pallbearers were William Wiese, Herman Jahn, John Weible, Sr., David Moody, Clarence David, and Julius Polzin.
Mr. Porsch died in his sleep at his home here on Thursday morning, February 3, 1955. He had not been ill.
He was born on August 29, 1881, in Audubon County, son of August and Wilhelmine (Kienast) Porsch, and was married to Marie Lehwald on February 23, 1911. The couple farmed until moving to Manning several years ago.
Mr. Porsch is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Lawrence (Annie) Petersen, Audubon; Herman, Audubon; Mrs. Herman (Margaret) Schmidt, Audubon; Mrs. Marie Froyd, at home; Mrs. Ray (Erna) Schultz, Rathdrum, Idaho; Arnold, Bell, Calif., and Otto of Manning. He also leaves two sisters: Mrs. William (Sophie) Wiemann, and Miss Ella Porsch, Audubon, and a brother, Ted, of Yale; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
