ALBERT UMLAND Last rites for Albert Peter Umland, 83, were held Tuesday afternoon in United Methodist Church here with the Rev. Harvey G. Quandt officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Audubon.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Ronnie Christensen, LaVern Christensen, Rick Wailes, Gary Umland, Danny Umland, and Terry Young.

Albert Peter Umland, son of Frank and Anna (Peper) Umland, was born October 13, 1889, at Manilla, Iowa. He was married to Emma Rostermund at Denison on September 24, 1919, and they lived three years in North Dakota after their marriage and then farmed near Manilla, Manning, Templeton, and southwest of Hamlin.

Mr. Umland was a member of the Methodist Church at Manning.

He died last Friday, April 13, 1973, at Audubon County Memorial Hospital, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Audubon.

Surviving is his wife, Emma; five daughters, Mrs. Harold (Viola) Jorgensen, Mrs. Thomas (Betty) Young, both of Audubon, Mrs. Robert (LaVerne) Wailes of Boone, Mrs. Ronald (Virgine) Anderson of Downey, California, and Mrs. Larry (Barbara) Linn of Atlantic; two sons, Merlin of Denison, and Willis of Gray; one brother, John of Manning; 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
