Alva Madison
Alva Gertrude Madison was born May 9, 1911, at Manning, Iowa, the daughter of George and Emma (Klindt) Becker.

She attended District 39 and Brownsdale Elementary Schools and graduated from Austin High School. She resided in Red Rock Township from 1914 to 1937, when she moved to Brownsdale where she lived until her death.

She was a member of Oak-Glen Chapter 177 Order of Eastern Star, Brownsdale Study Club, Birthday Club, and was a loyal and active member of Brownsdale United Methodist Church 56 years. She was Mower County Queen in 1927.

On December 5, 1937, she was united in marriage with Carlisle Madison in Brownsdale.

Mrs. Madison died at 3:30 p.m. May 15, 1980, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester.

Surviving are husband, Carlisle; a son-in-law and daughter, Rueben, and Sally (Madison) Rabenhorst, Viking, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Angela and Wade Rabenhorst; one sister, Mrs. Elmer (Ruth) Heydt, Brownsdale; two brothers, Clinton Becker, Sr., Waltham, George Becker, Brownsdale.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. May 19, 1980, at Brownsdale United Methodist Church, Rev. Richard E. Ormsby officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Brownsdale, with Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Clinton Becker, Jr., Jerry Becker, Bill Nason, Dale Madison, Milo Anderson, Glenn Stanton. Barbara Nason was soloist and Lillian Mathison, organist.
