In 1900, Mr. and Mrs. McCall were united in marriage. In the fall of 1929, they moved to Manning where they have lived until the time of Mrs. McCall's departure.
Six children were born to this union; one daughter and five sons: Mrs. Mabel Ethel Kunce of Yale, Iowa; Clarence Albert who preceded his mother in death; Earl Irwin of Panora, Iowa; Lyle James of Des Moines; Raymond Loyd of Yale, Iowa; Delbert Elmo of Manning. One grandchild preceded Mrs. McCall in death and one survives. All of the children except Clarence remain. Her husband Mr. James W. McCall, mourns deeply the loss of his wife.
The last nineteen years of Mrs. McCall's life were burdened with poor health which prevented her taking an active part in the affairs of the community which she otherwise would have enjoyed. Through it all and despite her afflictions, Mrs. McCall endured to be faithful, courageous and honorable. She was always doing deeds of kind ness thus making others happy and comfortable.
Mrs. McCall leaves to mourn her loss besides her immediate family the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Emma Tucker, Mrs. Ella Simmers, Mrs. Elsie Zaruba, Mrs. Rena Belgrade, Mrs. Rose Hutchison, August Oberkamper, Will Oberkamper, Jack Oberkamper, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors who also mourn Mrs. McCall's going.
Mrs. McCall was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and continued in that faith until her death.
Honor Be To Mother
"A farce of kindliest beauty;
A heart of tenderest grace;
A voice of sweetest cadence;
A love naught can efface.
"Hands tireless in their service;
Feet swift to come and go;
Ears tuned to faintest whispers;
Eyes keen to see and know.
"A love unlike all other;
A friend of all most true;
O mother, precious mother,
All honor he to you."
Fred S. Shepard
Funeral services were held at the Ohde Funeral Home on
Sunday afternoon at one, Rev. Alexander Wimberly of the Presbyterian church
conducting the services. His sermon was based upon the text: "God is not
the 'God of the dead but the God of the' living." Matthew 22:32.
A mixed quartet sang two helpful selections.
The body was laid to rest in the Carroll Cemetery.
CARD OF THANKS
We wish to extend our heart-felt thanks to neighbors and friends who so kindly

mother. We also wish to thank the Rev: A. Wimberly for his kind and consoling
words, the choir for the music and for the many and beautiful floral offerings.

December 15, 1938, Manning Monitor
I'm occasionally adding the actual scanned image of the obituary I make using my VERY expensive - large commercial scanner,
and/or also other articles about the deceased person that were published in the Manning Monitor.
I want to also comment about people who are taking my obituaries, pictures, and/or other articles about a person/family and posting them on other websites.
You do NOT have permission or the right to do this - you are stealing my historical work.
Buy your own scanning equipment, pay for memberships to other commercial websites,
and spend decades working on your local history like I have - then you'll understand why I'm making these comments!
Thank you for your attention to this matter - Dave Kusel
