Mrs. Walter passed away at her home in Manilla Saturday morning April 14, 1942. She became suddenly ill Saturday evening.
She was born April 6, 1881, in Iowa Township, Crawford County.
She was married September 27, 1898, in Denison to William F. Walter, who passed away three years ago.
Soon afterward she moved to Manilla from the farm in Iowa Township where she had spent her entire life.
She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Siena Kai of Manning. Her father Henry Kai, passed away several years ago.
Mrs. Walter was the mother of thirteen children. Two died in infancy, one at 14 years of age.
The surviving children are Mrs. Anna Weinbrandt, Denison, Mrs. Malinda Vinke, Manning, Mrs. Emma Vinke, Manning, William, Sac City, Mrs. Mamie Steiner, Westside, Alfred, near Manilla, Mrs. Cecil Sievertsen, Manilla, Mrs. Arlene Elwell, Manilla, Louis, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, and Ivan, at home.
There are thirteen grandchildren, also six sisters, Mrs. Hans Lamaack (Lizzie); Mrs. Claus Thomssen (Emma); Mrs. Richard Schacht (Amanda); Mrs. Siegfried Wenzel (Amanda); and Mrs. Ed Hageman (Hattie).
Burial will be in Iowa Township Cemetery, northeast of
Aspinwall, and nephews will act as pallbearers.

Last Rites Held Today For Mrs. Amelia Walter
Funeral services for Mrs. Amelia Maria Walter were held in the Zion Lutheran
Church, Manning, Thursday afternoon, April 23 at 2 o'clock, with the Pastor
John M. Ansorge officiating. Burial was in the Iowa Township Cemetery in
Crawford County. Nephews acted as casket bearers.
Mrs. Walter became suddenly ill Saturday evening and passed away early Sunday morning at her home in Manilla, where she had made her home the past three years following the death of her husband, William F. Walter.
She was born April 6, 1881, in Iowa Township, the daughter of Henry and Sena Kai. She spent her entire life, except the past three years in this vicinity.
She was married September 27, 1898, to William Walter at Denison. She was the mother of 13 children - 2 passed away in infancy, and one at the age of 14 years.
Survivors include: her mother, Mrs. Siena Kai, Manning, and
ten children: Mrs. Anna Weinbrandt, Denison; Mrs. Malinda Vinke near Manning;
Mrs. Emma Vinke, Manning; William, Sac City; Mrs. Mamie Steiner, Westside;
Alfred near Manilla; Mrs. Cecil Sievertsen, Manilla; Mrs. Arlene Elwell,
Manilla; Louis of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Ivan at home. She also leaves 13
grandchildren and the following sisters: Mrs. Hans Lamaack; Mrs. Claus
Thompsen, Mrs. Richard Schacht; Mrs. Siegfred Wenzel, Mrs. Ed Hageman, and Mrs. George Pfoltner.
