Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon at the Huffman Funeral home, where the body is resting until the time of the rites. The Rev. Waldemar E. Hinck, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Carroll Cemetery beside her husband, Fred, who died February 2, 1946.
Mrs. Miller was a longtime resident of Carroll County, having resided in Manning before coming to Carroll 34 years ago. She had lived in this county since 1875.
Golden Wedding in 1940
She was born Anna Hinrichs December 11, 1868, in Scott County, Iowa. Her
marriage to Mr. Fred Miller took place June 12, 1890, in Carroll. The couple
celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in June 1940.
After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Miller established their home in Manning, where Mr. Miller was then in the implement and hardware business. They moved to Carroll in 1913, Mr. Miller having taken over the duties of Clerk of the District Court of Carroll County January 1 of that year.
Survivors
Mrs. Miller leaves two daughters, Mrs. A.A. Osten (Hilda) and Mrs. B.W. Fisk
(Thekla), both of Carroll; one grandson, Wayne Osten, and one
great-granddaughter, Louayne Osten, also of Carroll,
and one sister, Mrs. Kate Anthony of Manning. She was a member of. the Lutheran Church.

Fred Millers Reach Golden Wedding Day
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller, well-known Carroll residents, observed their golden
wedding anniversary Wednesday. In honor of the occasion, Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Fisk
took them to the Amana Colonies for dinner. Mrs. A.A. Osten was also a guest.
The group of five spent the remainder of the day at Cedar Rapids.
Mrs. Osten and Mrs. Fisk, who are Mr. and Mrs. Miller's daughters, are their only children.
Twenty-seven years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Miller and family came to Carroll from
Manning to make their home, Mr. Miller having taken over the office of clerk of
the district court in January of that year. He had previously served in the
same capacity, but the family had maintained their home in Manning during that
time. Mr. Miller's tenure of office covered a long period of years. He is now
justice of the peace here, a position which he has also held for a long time.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller were both born in Scott County, Iowa, Mrs. Miller's maiden
name being Anna Hinrichs. They came to Manning from Scott County, Mr. Miller
locating there about fifty-five years ago and Mrs. Miller, forty-eight years
ago. Their marriage took place in Carroll on June 12, 1890.
While residing in Manning, Mr. Miller served as mayor. He still belongs to the
Manning Fire Department, of which he was a charter member. He is also a member of the Schuetzen-Verein.
Mr. Miller engaged in various businesses in Manning, first in the elevator
business, then a clothing store, later a hardware and implement concern, and lastly the implement business.
