ANNETTE KATHERINE TIMMERMAN
Funeral services for Annette Katherine Timmerman were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 1984 at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning Rev. Dennis Johnson of the Manning, First Presbyterian Church officiated and Dorothy Kusel was the organist for the service. Interment was in the Manning City Cemetery with casketbearers Lyle Arp, Alfred David, Roger Hinz, Lyle Schrum, Elmer Herbers, and Lawrence Sporrer.
Annette, daughter of Herman D. and Emma Barten Hinz, was born March 3, 1891, east of Manning, Ewoldt Township, Carroll County, Iowa. She attended country school.
As a young woman she worked for Phil Zerwas at the telephone office at Manning. She was united in marriage with Henry Timmerman on August 20, 1912. They made their home in Manning where Henry operated the Central Meat Market. In 1931 they moved to a farm on the west edge of Manning. Henry died in 1961, and Annette stayed on the farm and made her home with her son, Warren.
Annette had been in failing health since late this summer. She died at the Carroll Health Center on Sunday, October 14, 1984, at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 11 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; by the following brothers and sisters: Louis Hinz, Frank Hinz, Hedwig Hinz in infancy, Harry Hinz, Mrs. Rose Paine, and by Hilda Hinz in infancy; and by one grandson, John, in infancy.
She is survived by her two sons, Max Timmerman and his wife Leola of Exira, and Warren Timmerman of Manning; by one grandson, Kirk Timmerman and his wife Colleen of Des Moines; and by one sister, Elsie Groff of Minneapolis.
Annette was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Manning and was a member of the ladies' church organization. She also enjoyed being a member of various bridge clubs in this community.
