Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Church, Manning with the Rev. Fr. Molloy officiating. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in the Ohde Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Manning.
Mr. Stoberl was born April 6, 1893, in Bavaria, Germany. At the age of 19, he came to the United States and settled at Templeton where he worked as a blacksmith.
On February 17, 1914, he was married to Clara Mersman at Halbur. For seven years, he worked in a blacksmith shop at Arcadia until he moved to the farm three miles east and one-half mile south of Manning where he lived at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter Sophia (Mrs. Irwin Heckenliable) of Manning; a daughter Valeria (Mrs. Louis Dreher), Audubon; a daughter June (Mrs. Herman Meislahn), Gray; a son Reuben at Botna; a son Leonard at Audubon, and two sons Lyle and Norbert living at home; also nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Charles Muhlbauer of Manning; two brothers and a sister in Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Six of Mr. Stoberl's nephews will be pallbearers at the funeral.

Anton Stoberl
Funeral services for Anton Stoberl, 62, Manning farmer, were held on Thursday
morning, at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church here, with Rev. Thomas Molloy officiating.
Mr. Stoberl died early Monday morning, while in surgery at an Omaha hospital.
He was born on April 6, 1893, in Bavaria, Germany, and came to Templeton, Iowa,
at the age of 19, where he worked as a blacksmith.
For seven years he was a blacksmith at Arcadia; then moved to his present farm
home three miles east and mile south of Manning.
He is survived by his widow and the following children: Mrs. Erwin (Sophia)
Heckenliable, Manning; Mrs. Louis (Valeria) Dreher. Audubon; Mrs. Herman
(Irene) Meislahn, Gray; Reuben, Botna; Leonard, Audubon; Lyle and Norbert at
home. There are 9 grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Charles
Muhlbauer, Manning; and two brothers, and one sister in Germany.
