Mrs. Etta Martin
Mrs. Arletta "Etta" Martin, 68, died Tuesday evening, July 28, 1942, at her home in Audubon, following a 10-week's illness. Burial was in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Audubon, Iowa.

Mrs. Martin, whose maiden name was Pardee, was born May 6, 1874, in Pottawattamie County, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward L. and Marinda Esther (Burdick) Pardee.

She came to Audubon County with her parents when she was 7 years old, and had since lived in Audubon, Guthrie, and Carroll Counties.

She married James Martin, October 31, 1893, in Warren Township, Carroll County. His death occurred February 8, 1919.

Mrs. Martin moved to Audubon some 15 years ago.

Survivors are five children: Claude and Cecil Martin of Hamlin, Mrs. Williard Oakley of Audubon, Mrs. Leonard Sharp of Carroll and Miss Hazel Martin, at home. There are 13 grandchildren, two sisters, Mary (Mrs. Michael F.) Martin of Walnut and Inez (Mrs. John) Lahr of Ida Grove, and four brothers, George and Roy Pardee of Omaha, Will Pardee of Brayton, and Charles Pardee of Hamlin.
