Mrs. Pollock of Manning Dies of Paralytic Stroke
Funeral Arrangements Not Made - Await Arrival of Son
Mrs. Azubah Pollock, 66, life insurance agent, died at 2 o'clock Tuesday morning, March 1, 1938, at the Wyatt Hospital in Manning, her death resulting from a stroke which she suffered Monday afternoon. She had not been ill previously and her sudden death came as a great shock.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed, pending the arrival of her son, Fay Pollock, an attorney at Stanton, Nebraska. The rites will be held at either the Ohde Funeral Home or the Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. G.E. Steele officiating with burial in the Manning Cemetery.

Mrs. Pollock was active in civic and social affairs in Manning. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Ladles Aid and the organizer of the Young Women's Guild of the church. She was a past matron of the Eastern Star Chapter at Manning and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Pollock taught in the Manning Public Schools before her marriage. Her maiden name was Azubah Hall, born August 20, 1872, to James and Emeline (Williams) Hall. She married Henry Pollock and they had one son, Fay.

Survivors include her son, Fay Pollock, of Stanton, Nebraska; three grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Ida Kempf of Danbury, who is now in Manning, and another sister, Mrs. Harriet Martin of Butte, Montana.

POLLOCK OBITUARY
Mrs. Azubah Hall Pollock, for whom funeral services were held in the Ohde Funeral Home Thursday, was born August 20, 1872 at Thomsen, Illinois, the daughter of James L. and Emeline Hall. In 1875, the family came west and settled on a farm between Botna and Irwin in Shelby County. She received her education in the rural schools of that community. She graduated from the Manning high school in 1892; later she attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. She taught school until she married Henry W. Pollock, May 15, 1894. The young couple first made their home in Collison, Illinois. A few years later, they moved to Brayton, Iowa. The greater share of their time was spent in Manning, to which place they came from Brayton.

In 1916, they moved to Omaha. Mrs. Pollock returned to Manning in 1926, to care for her mother, who passed away in November 1933.

Mrs. Pollock united with the Manning Presbyterian Church in 1910 and remained a faithful member until her death. She sang in the church choir for ninny years and was active in all departments of church work. She was present at church services the Sunday before her death.

She was a member and past matron of Salona Chapter, No. 231, O.E.S., of the Woman's Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. Her death took place March 1, at 2 a.m., at the age of 65 years, 6 months, and 11 days.

She is survived by her husband, her son, Fay Hall Pollock of Stanton, Nebraska, three grandchildren, James Hall, Jackson and Judith Pollock; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie M. Martin of Billings, Montana, and Mrs. Ida M. Kemp of Danbury, Iowa; two nieces and two nephews.

Two cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Hall of Dickson, Illinois, were present for the services.

Prominent Lady Dies Suddenly, Funeral Today
Funeral services for Mrs. Azubah Pollock, 66, prominent Manning business woman, and long-time resident, will be held this afternoon at two o'clock at the Ohde Funeral Home. Rev. George E. Steele will be in charge. Salona Chapter, O.E.S. will also take part in the services.
Mrs. Pollock's death came as a severe shock to the community. She suffered a stroke Monday afternoon, was taken to the hospital that evening and passed away about two o'clock Tuesday morning at the Wyatt Memorial Hospital. She had not been ill previously.
Mrs. Pollock was active in civic and social affairs in Manning and was prominent in business circles, chiefly in insurance.

Last Rites Held Here For Mrs. Azubah Pollock
Azubah Hall Pollock was born August 20, 1872, at Thomson, Illinois, the daughter of James L. and Emeline (Williams) Hall.

The couple settled at Collison, Illinois. Alter a few years they moved to Brayton, Iowa, and then to Manning. In 1916, they moved to Omaha. Mrs. Pollock returned to Manning in 1926 to care for her aged mother, who passed away in November of 1933.

On October 9, 1910, she united with the First Presbyterian Church of Manning on profession of her faith in Christ. She has since been a most highly valued member of the church, to which she gave so much of her life, and thought, and service.

She was well-loved and honored by all who knew her. She was a member of the Manning Woman's Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Salona Chapter of the Order of the Easter Star, of which she was a Past Matron.

Our community was severely shocked and burdened with a keen sense of our loss when we learned of her sudden death early Tuesday morning, March first, following a stroke. She was 65 years, 6 months, and 11 days of age.

Surviving her are her husband, her son, Fay Hall Pollock of Stanton, Nebraska; three grandchildren, James Hall, Jackson, and Judith Pollock; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie M. Martin of Billings, Montana, and Mrs. Ida M. Kemp of Danbury, Iowa; two nephews and two nieces.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. George E. Steele from the Ohde Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon. Interment was made in Manning Cemetery.

Pall Bearers were Edward E. Breckenridge, John A. Lewis, William B. Parrott, Herbert Fitch, Herman C. Gotch, and Ralph G. Sutherland.
