WAS WELL KNOWN IN MANNING
Bert McClure, a former resident of Manning, was killed at Boone last Tuesday. He and two other men were in a boxcar in the rear of the train out near the sand-pit at the Y when a steer that was on the track threw the car off. As the car went down the embankment which was quite high, Bert jumped, but the wrong way and the car rolled over him killing him almost instantly. The other two escaped unharmed. Mr. McClure was an old trusted man on the Northwestern for several years and had many friends among the rail road men at Boone, his home. This is also a very severe blow to his wife, as they are young people and have only been married a few short years.
