Betty Waterbury, 62, died at the Boone County Hospital on May 9, 2004, of respiratory failure. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13 at Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone, with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Boone.

Betty was born in Manning, Iowa, on August 7, 1941. She married Robert Waterbury in Manning on July 11, 1959. The couple moved to Boone in 1971.

Betty was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, the DAV Auxiliary, and the WIBC (Women's International Bowling Congress).

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Robert of Boone, a son, Michael Waterbury and fiancee Ann Piotrowski of Rice, Minnesota: four daughters. Michele Waterbury, Maria Anderson and husband Jack, and Melissa Coghlan and husband Dave, all of Boone and Monica Wulff and husband Martin of Gig Harbor, Washington: two brothers, Melvin Hoffman and wife Helen of Rawlins, Wyoming, and Hilbert Hoffman and wife Deb of Orlando, Florida: one sister, Barb Riesenberg and husband Jerome of Roselle: five grandchildren, Ashley Kuil, Courtney Waterbury, Dominique Wulff, Alex Abbott, and Christopher Wulff: one great-grandson, Tyson Kuil: and aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Friends may call at the funeral chapel today from 2 to 9 p.m. where a vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. and the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
