Caroline Westphalen
It is with sorrow we chronicle the death of Caroline (Mrs. Henry) Westphalen, nee Hageman, February 19, 1925. She was born in Germany, February 11, 1858, and came to this country when 18 years of age. She and her devoted husband lived on a farm three miles north of Manning until seven years ago, when they moved to town. She had been in poor health for several years, but not serious until about two months ago. She bore illness with Christian resilience.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, two sons, Herman and Henry of Sydney, Nebraska; three daughters, Amelia (Mrs. Hubert) Lamp of Manning, Wilhelmina (Mrs. Almond) Taylor (later married William Jensen) of Omaha, and Anna (Mrs. Hans) Struve of Montana; two brothers, one in South Dakota and the other in Germany.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the M.E. Church, Rev. Harry Coates officiating. Interment was made in the city cemetery. We join with her many friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved ones.
